SHERMAN COALITION FOR SENSIBLE FIREARM LAWS
Concerned citizens of Sherman, Danbury and New Fairfield uniting in support of sensible firearm
laws in Connecticut!
PETITION STATEMENT
To be delivered to state Senator Michael McLachlan (Sherman, New Fairfield, Danbury,
Bethel) and Representative Richard Smith (Sherman, New Fairfield).
As a concerned citizen,
I urge you to support legislation to protect our citizens from
firearm violence by taking a firm stand on all of the following:
Prohibiting the sale and possession of any rifle, shotgun or pistol magazine
with a capacity of more than 10 rounds.
Clarifying
and expanding the definition of an 'assault weapon' under current
Connecticut state law.
Requiring
the registration with state law enforcement officials — and
the biennial registration renewal — of all firearms by model
and serial number.
Requiring
a permit to purchase ammunition.
Prohibiting
the online purchase of ammunition.
Prohibiting
the purchase of ammunition in Connecticut by anyone who is not
legally authorized to possess a firearm in Connecticut.
Prohibiting
the storage of firearms and ammunition in a manner that allows
access by persons under age 18.
Thank you for your action!
